17 Days and counting..

So at my school, in our dorms they decided this year that they would charge student $20/month for basic cable- cause they don't get enough money, right? I'm not a huge tv watcher but I will watch tv if good shows are on and if their available. I do enjoy my weekly stories such as grey's anatomy, desperate housewives and so on, but I prepped myself that being in school and all, that staying up to date on my weekly shows would be hard with school work and such. And obviously I didn't really feel like paying another $20 a month.. 8 thousand dollars later. The school posted posters every where around residence that if don't sign up with one of the Roger's Cable reps in the lobby the cable would be cut off on September 9th.
So I decided to get in as much tv as possible with it being the first week everything was slow, so I had time to watch tv, not that there's lots of choice but I got to watch some Criminal Minds, CSI, and the First 48 which I was more than happy with. My roommate and I we're bracing ourselves on that Friday night, when there was a back to back episodes of Criminal minds starting at 9pm that we couldn't watch it. So we sat there and watched what we could until the cut off time, but at 10:30pm the tv was still going and we we're able to watch the double episode(So exciting!!!) So we thought, "oh they'll cut it off at midnight".. midnight came and we we're still watching and we couldn't of been happier that we we're getting free cable, but we came to our sense that we for sure wouldn't have it on Monday, so again we watched what we physically could in that amount of time and braced ourselves yet again for the cable cut off.
Well let's just say that it's the 26th of September and as I'm writing this blog, guess what I have on in the background..yup the tv! Mind you, I haven't turned off my tv in those 17 days because I don't want to lose the option of my free cable! It's kind of like that episode of "Friends" where Joey and Chandler get the free porn and their scared to turn it off! ( http://youtu.be/L8y_XELbssc )
There's nothing as satisfying as "beating the system!" especially when the system is a money demanding education system.
