I have been watching a lot of Much Music lately, and this weekend the show called ''Scaretatics" was on a decent amount, and basically it has the same idea as Punk'd but you set up a friend and try to scare the shit out of them. The majority of the people are teenagers who are either set up by their friends or in some cases parents. Sounds like fun, right?
Well maybe it's me, and maybe I don't give them enough credit, but if any of you have seen the show you may know what i'm talking about/how i feel. Either it's scripted and the people who are set up know whats coming and they're horrible actors or the people doing the scaring do it horribly and the people know it's not actually true.
There was one where a girl was set up by her dad, and she was helping out at a blood bank type place, and these men came to pick up the blood, but suddenly they had weird eyes, and fangs, "killed" the two other workers and had the girl cornered asking for the blood(sounds corny i know), but in no way did she look that scared. If it was me regardless of how sci-fi the situation was i'd be shitting my pants. There was another one where a kid was set up by his friend and he was to be a judge on a talent type show, so he's sitting down behind the table with the other "judges" and a man walks in with a magical puppet on his hand, he then threatens that he is going to "blow up the place", he pulls out a remote, presses the button and something outside "explodes", then he proceeds to show that there's another "bomb" strapped to the puppets chest and if they don't do what he say's he'll blow them up to! The kid in no way was scared by this!?!?!?!!? WTF!!?!? The kid gets out from behind the table and starts questioning him, and even grabs his glass of water and splashes they guy with it! Maybe I'm a wimp, but I know for a FACT if a random sketchy guy with a puppet came in with a bomb I would not be getting all up in his face! Some of their "skits" are a bit too much, I feel like even though it's a joke it could damage someone really bad, like give them PTSD or something, the whole bomb situation isn't the best joke I could think of, or would want to do cause that could be just straight up traumatizing!
Maybe check it out and see what I mean some of their skits are a bit on the extreme side that I honestly believe could damage someone mentally.
Oh and to top it off, it's hosted by Tracy Morgan- I myself not a fan, so I want to kill myself listening to his "puns" about the scenarios.
